Case closure rates indicate that 82% of cases on the NCIS are closed.  TAS, SA, NT and the ACT have a case closure rate of 90% or more. Most States/Territories have a case closure rate of more than 70%. QLD has shown a dramatic improvement in their case closure rate, increasing from 57% to 78% since the last issue of NCIS News.

There continues to be a steady increase in document attachment rates for most jurisdictions. WA has shown the most dramatic increase, with an almost 20% improvement in their Autopsy attachment rate. As reported in the last edition of NCIS News, we are continuing to liaise with Forensic Providers in QLD and SA to enable automatic electronic attachment of their Autopsy and Toxicology reports. Overall, Police Narratives continue to be the most reliably attached document, with all but one jurisdiction having an attachment rate of over 90%.
